Charlie Kirk, a US political activist and ally (盟友) of President Donald Trump, was shot dead on Sept 10 during his “Prove Me Wrong” event at Utah Valley University. The event was about him inviting the audience to debate political ideas. Two days after Kirk’s death, Trump announced the arrest of suspect Tyler Robinson. The Washington Post said that Kirk’s death is evidence of rising political violence (暴力) in the US. Experts warn that political groups increasingly view each other as deadly enemies, raising the risk of violence. Social media worsens this by spreading harmful ideas rapidly.
